Shannon Hood
Instructor
Hi! I’m Shannon and I am a Strides 360 instructor for Fit4Mom West Plano. I was introduced to Fit4Mom classes in late 2019, after my sweet little boy Walt was born. Although he still loves coming to classes with me, he may not be at all of them, as he is in preschool during the school year, or spends time with my husband, Louis.
But the great thing about Strides 360 is that you can bring your kiddos, or just come by yourself! It’s a cardio based class that allows you to work at your own level of intensity, with or without your stroller and LOs.
Before making the decision to stay home with Walt, I was an executive vice president for a higher education institution in Dallas. Prior to moving to Texas in 2018, I held various administrative positions in Oklahoma higher ed and started my career as an equine and agriculture faculty member there. I am a proud alumni of Oklahoma State (Go Pokes! ) and have both my BS in Animal Science and PhD in Ag Education and Leadership from that great school. I have also been a (slow) runner for almost twenty years now and have taught Zumba and other fitness classes. Stroller running with Walt is what led me to find Fit4Mom. He is my best and favorite running coach and fitness buddy .
I am passionate about my family, education, agriculture and fitness (and chocolate…who doesn’t love chocolate?). I look forward to seeing you strong, awesome mommas at class! In the words of Robin Arzon, “Welcome Hustlers! We polish our crowns with sweat”
